Case study with Marc Cornelius about Alex van Ginneken

Question: Thank you very much for agreeing to have this testimonial about Alex van Ginneken. I know you have been working with him for some time and I wanted to ask a couple of questions about him. But before we jump into the questions, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Answer: Yeah, for sure. By the way, my name is Marc Cornelius and I am a Google freelancer. I've been doing that for like four years. Maybe a little bit more, a little bit less. My only focus is Google Ads. I focus on clients with a budget of around 10K a month.

Question: How long have you been working without Alex?

Answer: I think I've met Alex three years ago. I think it was the first week of starting to work by myself. I called many people, including Alex and I was thinking: “OK, let's do a cup of coffee with Alex”. I was really nervous to call him because I knew that he had a big name in the marketing world and he was very busy. I hate denial. I was afraid of him saying: “no, I don't have time, I don't know you and whatsoever.” But he did have time for me. So I was really happy. A week later, we met and good cooperation started. From the beginning he sent me a lot of leads even without him coaching me yet. I think the good cooperation and the good feeling was mutual. That's where it started. As to date, we are still working together.

Question: What is your feeling about his services?

Answer:  I am very happy with having him as my business coach. As an entrepreneur, you get in a rut quite quickly. What Alex really does is getting me out of this rut quickly. Also, via a helicopter view he is giving me the view on my businessI leave his office with a lot of inspiration. That's the summary of my overall feeling with him. He's very inspiring and he really helps me a lot with my business

Question: Do you feel inspired every time you leave his coaching session?

Answer: Yeah. I'm quite busy. This is also because I don't have my priorities straight at all times. Whenever I meet him and we talk about those priorities, he comes up with some inspiring stuff. When I leave his office, I'm always really tired in my head and I have to cool down a little bit and let those ideas fall into place. The feeling is great. I really love it.

Question: What was your situation in your business before you started working with Alex?

Marc: The first reason to come to Alex was to broaden my network. I saw him as the pioneer in marketing. I thought, if I get to know Alex, I get to know a lot of other people as well. I wanted to surround myself with inspiring people and Alex was the number one on that list.

Question:  Do you have any specific experience that you had with him that you liked the most?

Marc: Hmm. Well, there were a lot of experiences. But there was one that I want to talk about. The customer rating model. He taught me this model 6 months ago. I had several customers who were sending me emails the whole day and not always with the most amazing questions. It felt like micromanagement. Also, they were really pushy with answering their questions. I asked Alex what I can do about it, how can I work with these people because they are taking 95% of my time and they are bringing 5% of my revenues.

Alex suggested to go through a customer rating model and if my client gets the degree of below 6, then I have to quit working with this client. We went through all of my clients together with him and the clients that got below 6 for two months in a row, I had to say goodbye to. This model turned out to be very important to me because it was very difficult to say goodbye to clients with whom we were since the beginning of my career, because I was naive thinking that people would change. But now I know when is the right moment to give my client to someone else.

Question:  What are three benefits you have received from Alex's service that you value the most?

Answer: The three benefits, that's easy! First of all, the help with getting rid of negativity. If you can pay something to get rid of negativity, you have to always do it. I had one experience where I had to get rid of negativity and when I did it, everything started being fine. I try to avoid negativity as much as possible. If you have negativity in your life and if you're able to pay an amount of money to get rid of it, you should do it!

Second benefit is to get bigger revenues. I'm very competitive and I want to have bigger revenues each month. A year ago I thought I hit the top of my possible revenues. Then Alex gave me really good advice regarding my profit model, which made me break through my barrier. That's a good benefit!

The third one is the expansion of my network. Alex introduced me to a lot of inspiring people who are clients of mine, or they even became friends or part of my network.

I can mention a fourth benefit. Each time he puts me back to work. Whenever I leave our coaching session, I get a lot of input with the description of what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. I start seeing the trees through the forest again.

Question: Would you recommend him to a friend or a family member?

Answer: Never, not just kidding. I really would. Yeah, definitely. No doubt!

Question: What will be the number one reason to recommend him?

Marc: If you want personal development, if you put personal development as your first priority, I think Alex is the person you want to have as a coach. If I compare myself to one year ago, it's such a big difference in every possible way. I also really want to thank Alex for that because he has made a lot of things possible!

Question: Thanks so much. Wow, very beautiful words, I have nothing to add to that!

Marc: That's great. Thank you!
